• DefinitionCourtyard, loose brown fill for walls 50 and 265 trench
• DescriptionLoose brown soil that extends the length of walls 50 and 265 between section 1 and 2. It is irregularly shaped, larger in width near section 1 and wall 265, then narrowing as it extends towards section 2 and wall 50. May not have been narrowing see notes/doubts and SM notebook.
• ObservationsWe did not recognize this context prior to opening up to section 2. This could be due to the disturbance caused by the modern trench and/or the exploded bomb found in context 0703. After a weekend of rain and removing context 0759 we noticed that the extent of the trench was regular and not narrowing towards section 2. This was below the level of context 0804, so we are unsure if we missed the cut at defintion. This is the most likely explanation, though it is possible that after the fill 0762 and 0805 something really strange happened?
