• DescriptionLayer of compact, clayish soil. This was fairly well compacted and was not terribly well delineated in the area opposite Cut 601. The soil contained a lot of ceramic and bone, with just a few pieces of glass and metal. There was an abundance of sea stones and sea shells.
• ObservationsThe only doubts might spring from the fact that this layer seemed artifically compacted (not a use surface) perhaps from our use of it in this year's work, and Italo in last year's work. So, this layer, in some areas, did not seem ultimately distinguishable from the layer beneath, context 827.
