Description

  • CH04SR0458
  • Layer of brown gray soil, compact under context 448 in room 36
  • Very compacted brownish gray soil under SR448 and 449. Had less a distribution than SR435. Primarily located along southern and southeastern part of room.
  • Fairly thin layer not identified along eastern wall until after excavation of this part of layer and after we started excavating "packing" beneath.

    • Older living surface/floor under "packing"/preparation layer for later floor.
      • CS
    • The thin layer of black (449) above this layer may be evidence of burning although there was no carbonized wood or burned artifacts (identified in the field) attributed to this layer (458).
